Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen separate times.

The Parisian giants needed a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a successful spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele found the net early on.

However, the southern French side struck two times in the closing moments to take a shock lead. Initially, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, Goncalo Ramos grabbed a crucial equaliser in the final moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and Desire Doue all converted successfully for PSG to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
